The Give Gala is an award-winning ‘no money’ charity event to benefit critically-ill children and their families.

Attendees offer a service, gift or talent to the kids and families being treated at Duke and UNC Hospitals. This offer is their ticket into the Gala.

We then distribute the offers to patients and families who could benefit from them. Attendees also have the option to fulfill a request directly from the patients, families and staff in exchange for a gala ticket.

Last year for Give Gala 2016, 500+ people came together to help local patient families!!! From tickets to basketball games to dance lessons to even a cruise, attendees offered little acts of kindness that directly improved the lives of children who are sick.

Q: What if I don't have any special talent or service I can offer?
A: Don't worry, you're special to us :) If nothing comes to mind (try to be creative!) don't fear. We also have a list of needs we've gathered from the hospitals like parking passes, games, DVDs, and meals.

Q: Can I invite my friends?
A: Sure! The more people, the more giving. But we will hit maximum capacity very quickly. Be sure to register and arrive at 8 pm to guarantee entry into the Give Gala.

Q: So when does my offer get matched with a patient?
A: Following the Give Gala, we will release all of the offers we collected to the patients and families at Duke and UNC Hospitals. If someone claims your offer, we will connect you with that patient. Please note that not all offers will get claimed, but we'll keep you in the loop on what other things the patients need.

Q: What if I know a patient or family that needs something?
A: Great, we'd love to help. Please send their info to joey@themondaylife.org.

Q: I don't live in Raleigh so I can't attend the Give Gala, but I still want to help. Can I?
A: Of course! Please send your offer to joey@themondaylife.org.

Q: So you're not collecting any money? Why are you doing this?
A: That's correct, we're collecting no payment other than your offers. We want to show people impact beyond dollar amounts. So there will be no silent auctions, purchasing tickets, or asking for monetary donations.

Q: What do I wear?
A: The event is cocktail attire or black tie optional!
