Every one understand that we have five senses: vision, touch, hearing, smell, and taste. But the truth is the human body is more complex than this. We have three more senses: proprioception, the vestibular system, and interoception. These are ‘internal’ senses, as they help our brain learn about where our body is, how we are moving, and how we are feeling. In this lecture, we will be looking specifically at proprioception!
Research studies have shown that proprioceptive deficits can be responsible for the initiation and advancement of joint degeneration in otherwise injury free and healthy subjects.
Including balancing and proprioceptive exercises to a workout or injury rehabilitation protocols is essential and will greatly aid in contributing to a full recovery and prevent future joint dysfunction.
Come join Marjorie Brook for an evening conversation on Proprioception: Your Left no Your other Left
This will also be a webinar- please check back for more information as we are in the process of setting it up.
