We are pleased to announce our facilitator for April's PMI Portland Roundtable is Cole Chatterton, MBA. As a 2017 Lake Oswego Rotary Service Above Self Educational Excellence Award winner, Cole exemplifies the leadership qualities most of us only aspire to. That makes him the perfect facilitator for our evening featuring the Leadership aspect of the PMI Talent Triangle™ — and his project management achievements are equally impressive. As project manager for facility troubleshooting, technology platforms, and profit improvement plans, Cole increased company output by 20-30% and was instrumental in sales cycle and project deployment involving multimillion dollar contracts.

The roundtables are open to anyone – you do not need to be a PMI member – and there is no charge to attend. Parking is free on campus.

This PMI Roundtable provides an opportunity to connect the business and education PM communities together. We will join experts and practitioners in the Project Management field with emerging project managers. Share PM trends, challenges and successes. Tap into new talent and ideas. Explore different PM career paths. Business and education come together for networking and knowledge – an evening of interesting and productive dialogue.

The roundtable at Marylhurst will meet the third Wednesday of each month. We are using the PMI Talent Triangle™ as a framework. According to the Project Management Institute, “the ideal skill set – the Talent Triangle – is a combination of technical, leadership, and strategic and business management expertise.” We will bring project managers with expertise in each of these categories to present insights and help facilitate the sessions.

These meetings are worth 1 PDU for PMI credential holders, and grow the knowledge bank of students and practitioners. There is often a balance of junior and senior Project Managers from a variety of disciplines to provide an eclectic viewpoint. It can be extremely valuable and fun – and a great way to meet people and hone your project management skills.
