On Thursday, April 5 at 12:15 p.m., the Mass General Spiritual Care Department will offer a special service called Circle of Concern: An Epidemic of Violence at the Mass General Chapel on Ellison 1 (main campus). The service will focus on the trauma related to the lives that have been affected by mass shootings across our country and the Boston Marathon bombing.
The service will be led by Chaplain Erica Rose Long and Rev. Diana Donahue and will include a reflection from Jennifer Goba, Senior Manager of Investigations for Mass General Police and Security.
This will be the first of a monthly series of special services to be held every first Thursday of each month at 12:15 p.m. It will be an occasion to come together and reflect on current events that affect the Mass General community. Attendees will be seated in a circle and will have an opportunity to participate in the service.
This format is shared by different cultures around the world, encouraging inclusion and a diversity of beliefs. There will also be time for folks to express their personal concerns, prayer requests and intentions.
Everyone is welcome.
