The Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) Class is at least 12 hours in length and contains basic pistol use and marksmanship, levels of awareness, choosing holsters and clothing for concealment, a written exam, a shooting qualification, and at least three hours of legal explanation of Alaska Statutes on the use of force taught by an attorney.

The cost is $100 for members and $130 for non- members.
Please bring a centerfire handgun suitable for personal defense; .38 or 9mm or larger. (Note: Short barrel "snubnose" revolvers and equivalent small semiautomatics may cause difficulties for shooters and thus are not recommended.) If you have any questions please call us before arriving.
Rental Guns and ammo available for purchase. You may want to bring additional ammunition, approximately 100 rounds. Eye and ear protection are required but may be borrowed from the range.
Students may bring lunch, we have kitchen facilities including a microwave, stove, and refrigerator or we do have fast food restaurants within a short drive from the range.
Independent Fingerprint Consulting will be on hand, for $25 he offers the appropriate photos and prints to obtain your state license.

SAFETY is the foremost consideration in this course as it should be in all activities involving firearms. We expect you to need guidance in the methods and techniques taught in this course, but in the matter of safety your complete attention and cooperation is mandatory. Should you violate basic safety constraints you will be required to leave the range.
