April: “From the Board” Kathy Pasca, Photography

A paddle boarding enthusiast since the summer of 2015, she has traversed and explored the inlets, creeks, bays, river and Sound from Orient to Riverhead, from Quogue to Noyack. All the photos in this show were taken with an iPhone 6 from her paddle board.
All are welcome to an opening reception on Sunday, April 8th, from 2-4 p.m. in the Library Gallery.
In the Display Case: Pysanky (Ukrainian) Eggs
Carrying on a family tradition that has spanned several generations, Pat DeRidder and her grandchildren look forward to Easter each year and the making of Pysanky Eggs, an ancient art form. There are several thousand different symbolic motifs in Ukrainian folk designs; the DeRidders use both these and their own original designs to decorate eggs of all sizes. Pat says, “It’s a joy to spend this special time with the grandkids creating these beautiful treasures.”
