The Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts has nominated every one of Abe's albums (Dimensions, A Pass Out Records Christmas, Ukulele Vibes, Solo Ukulele - The King of Pop, Rhythm & Uke) in the annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards. His first win was for his Solo Ukulele album: a tribute to Michael Jackson that showcases unique arrangements of Jackson’s music.

Abe is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, well-known as a drummer but equally as proficient on vibraphone and ‘ukulele, who has performed throughout the world on all three instruments with a variety of artists in a range of genres – most notably with South Korea’s top jazz group, Prelude. Abe's international and major label releases include Lovers Uke (Universal Music, 2007) and Uke Wired (Pony Canyon Records, 2009) in Japan, and Ukulele Vibes (Sony Music Entertainment, 2011) in Korea.

The trio in this concert includes Noel Okimoto on drums and Dean Taba on bass.
