FREE ceramics course in Houghton le Spring for local residents
Our brand new community interest company, MBC Arts Wellbeing, has won its first community project grant :)
We will be delivering a four session ceramics course at Cherry Tree Gardens, Houghton le Spring, starting 10th April 2018 1.30-4pm.
This is a four-session course where we will work with participants to produce ceramics inspired by spring - handmade ceramic bird feeders, sunflower garden plaques, and covering glazing too. As part of the course we will also be giving out information on local services for participants to access, giving information on how you can be more involved in activities in your local community around Houghton!
Participants can be of any age so long as you are over 18 years old. The course is completely free, and for residents of Houghton, Hetton, and Shiney Row as well as areas in between. Places are limited to 15 people and we have 8 people booked in already. You can attend this course even if you have attended previous courses run by us, but you MUST live in the Coalfields area. The course is designed for people who can gain from the wellbeing benefits of working with clay, and who feel isolated in the community, or who perhaps want to find out more about what is on offer locally. If this is you, send us a direct message to book your place! :)
