Sammy Brue and Pearl Charles live at McCabe's Guitar Shop!!
Sammy Brue has been writing songs since the age of 10.
Demonstrating an impressive level of drive and dedication, Sammy busked at the Sundance film festival when was just 11 years old, performed at the Newport Folk Festival, and opened shows for the likes of Hayes Carll, Lydia Loveless, John Moreland, Lukas Nelson, Lucinda Williams and Asleep at the Wheel. Sammy Brue embodies the kind of wisdom, talent and natural empathy that are often signs of age and maturity, and yet at 16 years old, he can place himself in the shoes of others, real or fictionalized, and write stories about them. Sammy is an incredible talent and a force to be reckoned with. He's not just a prodigy, he's a true, soulful talent.
Angeleno Pearl Charles (from The Driftwood Singers and The Blank Tapes) is making waves in her solo career:
"Charles' record takes cues from movements all over the American map. There are hints of Southern folk and alt-country, Midwest Americana, and West Coast acid rock." - Pitchfork
"Think of Pearl Charles as a stoner Lana Del Rey or a Jenny Lewis with grit." - NME
