Come join the 90-voice Cosmopolitan Chorus for an evening as we perform Dan Forrest's beautiful Requiem for the Living with chamber orchestra and organ. This promises to be an excellent concert that will leave you both moved and entertained, but also clocks in at under an hour, leaving time for plenty of activities afterwards!

Requiem for the Living is contemporary work in five movements written by American composer Dan Forrest. While a Requiem is a prayer for rest traditionally reserved for the deceased, here the piece forms a narrative just as much for the living, and their own struggle with pain and sorrow. The various movements explore themes such as vanity, the beauty of creation (as seen from space and reflected in mankind), and of course grief. It is truly a pleasure to both sing and to hear, and we hope you can join us for this very special concert.

This is our only Edmonton performance of this work, and also serves as the "Bon voyage" kick-off to our upcoming tour to New York City, where we be performing the piece at Carnegie Hall on May 19!
