The Medfield Garden Club and the Medfield Public Library are co-sponsoring a special community-wide program, "Drought Resistant Native Plants, " presented by Mark Richardson on Wednesday, April 25 at 7:00 PM at the Medfield Public Library, 468 Main Street in Medfield MA.
Mark Richardson is the New England Wildflower Society Botanic Director at Garden in the Woods in Framingham. Mark will discuss the importance of native plants in water conservation. Natives are uniquely adapted to local environmental conditions and require far less water when established. Natives save time, money, and perhaps, the most valuable natural resource: water. This informative learning opportunity for Medfield residents is specifically designed for homeowners struggling with water bans in New England communities.
Mark will also discuss his book, Native Plants for New England Gardens, co-authored with Dan Jaffe, the chief propagator and stock bed grower of the New England Wildflower Society which will be available for purchase and signing.
Mark Richardson studied ornamental horticulture at University of Rhode Island and holds a master's degree from the University of Delaware's Longwood Graduate Program.
This event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments, donated by Brothers Marketplace, will be served. Please contact Meena Jain at email@example.com or Michele Feinsilver, firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
