The Visual Art League of Lewisville presents Janice Hamilton, well known pastel artist at its monthly “Art Talks” members' meeting, Tuesday, April 10, 7-9 p.m. at Medical City Lewisville Grand Theater, 100 N. Charles Street.
This event is open to the public and there is no charge.
Ms. Hamilton has a degree in education and has studied art with a number of nationally known artists. In 1993 she was included in the Artists of Texas Volume IV, Fine Arts Catalogue. In 1994, one of her pastel paintings was included in the Dallas Museum of Arts' Beaux Arts Auction.
Her work has been featured in one-woman shows at the Grand Kernpinski, the Goodrich Gallery in Dallas. and the Irving Art Center in Irving. Her work was featured as one of the Master Pastel Artists of the World in the 2003 June-July issue of the International Artists Magazine.
She is active in many pastel and art societies. She has taught pastels and pastel portrait classes in the continuing education classes at both Richland and Brookhaven Community Colleges. She presently teaches art in private classes and at the TEXIN's Art Club
The Visual Art League is one of seven local groups receiving funding from a City of Lewisville grant program designed to foster cultural and fine arts in the community.
