Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the leading cause of death in sports - more than any form of cancer, concussion or illness combined. Thousands of seemingly healthy kids die every single year due to detectable heart conditions. That's why MCC is thrilled to announce that we've partnered with Who We Play For to provide every student athlete and student the opportunity to get their heart checked with an electrocardiogram (ECG). Together we will eliminate the risk of sudden cardiac arrest to a detectable condition missed in the physical.
This free opportunity is for those students who have not yet been tested. Thanks to Health First, the program is funded in the first year. Typically, it costs $20 with Who We Play For, compared to $150+ at the hospital. If you would like to pay it forward you can do so for another athlete (checks made payable to Who We Play For). Students must turn in the consent form to Ms. Reynolds by April 5th.
