Twelve years ago the Scottish Rite Masons of Huntington and the Marshall University speech and Hearing Center developed a partnership with two common interests
in mind: children and communication. The mission of the Scottish Rite Speech and Language Program at Marshall is to provide comprehensive services to children who have communication disorder without regard to a family's ability to pay for services.
The Center has experienced significant growth in recent years. Through donations to the program, many families have received services they would not have otherwise been able to afford. Scholarships for the Scottish Rite Foundation have also helped support students in our academic program (Communication Disorders) who are studying to become speech language pathologists.
To provide funds for the Center, the Scottish Rite Masons hold an annual fundraising dinner each April. The event is our only major fundraiser. We rely on members of the community for support to defray the cost of providing food and to provide items for the silent auction. The auction has been a successful part of the Scottish Rite Dinner in past years; all donors are acknowledged at the event. Your tax-deductible contribution will help us continue to achieve our goal of providing services to children with communication disorders which will improve their quality of life for years to come.
