PADI Assistant Instructor Course with Mermaids

Your time is at a premium, so the team at Mermaids Dive Center has developed a way to for you to become a PADI Instructor in bite sized chunks. start with the PADI Assistant Instructor Course first and then work towards PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor at a later date.

Here's how were are doing it:-

1. PADI E-Learning to remove the death by PowerPoint. Terry will allocate you a link and this must be completed before the start of the course.
2. PADI's Dive Today philosophy- We will spend time in the pool and ocean working on in-water skills. This is conducted at a private facility and on Mermaids Boats with Terry.
3. Classroom session at a minimum. This is conducted at a private facility.

The Schedule:

28th April - Classroom and Pool session
5th May - Classroom and Pool session
19th May - Ocean Session and Party!!!!

What you are able to do as an Assistant Instructor:-

• Present the knowledge development elaboration for any PADI Diver course under the instructor’s indirect supervision.
• The instructor personally assesses student knowledge development.
• Present initial skills training under the instructor’s direct supervision during confined water dives.
• Conduct open water surface skill evaluations during Open
• Water Diver course dives under the instructor’s indirect supervision.
• Teach and certify Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty Divers under the direction of an instructor.
• Independently teach the Project AWARE (non-diving) Specialty course.
• Independently teach the Coral Reef Conservation (non-diving) Specialty course.
• Independently conduct Reactivate in a pool or confined water.
• Independently conduct Bubblemaker programs.
• Independently conduct PADI Seal Team Aqua-Missions.
• Teach and certify divers in specialty courses that don’t include dives after completing Specialty Instructor Training courses and earning Specialty Instructor ratings for such specialties.
• After completing the corresponding instructor training and earning Specialty Instructor ratings, conduct Digital Underwater Photographer specialty courses under the direction of a PADI Instructor.
