MERMAIDS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING!

Love theatre in St Andrews?
Want to get more involved?
Want a say in how the performing arts in your town functions?
Want to be involved in exciting projects?
Want to exercise your democratic rights?
Want a say of who is on your Mermaids committee?

If you said yes to any of these questions, then the Mermaids AGM is the place to be!

On April 19th, from 8pm, we’ll be in SANDY’S BAR to elect the 2018-2019 Mermaids Committee.

If you want to be involved in putting on over 30 productions a year, organising one of St Andrews’ biggest balls, and sending productions to the Fringe, then we’d love for you to come along.

Committee positions are split between INTERVIEWED and ELECTED positions. Role descriptions can be found here:

INTERVIEWS:
The following positions will be interviewed for by the incoming President, outgoing President, Incumbent and Sabbatical Officers:
- Vice President
- Productions Coordinator
- Productions Treasurer
- Barron Manager
- Technical Operations Officer
- Fringe Representative (Must be free from Mid July- End of August 2019)
- Ball Convener
- Box Office Manager

All applicants can apply for a maximum of two interviewed positions - please number your applications in order of preferences. While you are welcome to apply for two positions, please only do so if you are certain you have the skills to do both jobs. You need to submit your application (150 words - why you want the position, why you'd be good at it, what experience you have etc.) to the new President (Rowan rw95@st-andrews.ac.uk) by Saturday 14th April at 11:59 pm. Interviews will be arranged for the 17th, and candidates will be informed of the decision before the AGM at 8pm.

AGM:
The positions that will be elected during our AGM are as follows:
- Costumes Officer
- Set and Props Officer
- Secretary
- Marketing Officer
- Engagement Officer

To run for a position during the AGM, please come prepared with a quick speech (2 mins; 3 mins for Marketing Officer) about why you would like to run for the position, what makes you qualified, etc. There will then be some questions (up to 3 mins) from the floor about your suitability for the job. Don't worry, everyone will play nice!

*** Anyone who wishes to run for Marketing Officer: role, please think about how you could market a production of Arthur Miller’s 'The Crucible'. Think about designs for both cover and profile pictures as well as any additional materials you think may be appropriate (sketches are fine but if you have graphic design skills please use them!). Please email this to Rowan (rw95@) along with your expression of interest in the position on Tuesday 17th April by 11.59pm and be prepared to talk about your plan during your speech. ***

Any matriculated student is welcome to run for a position and attend the AGM! So bring your friends along to vote, socialise, and drink some free wine and soft drink alternative.
