Join us in celebrating the academic accomplishments and graduation of our African American students!
Maricopa Community Colleges has a proud tradition of offering students the opportunity to celebrate graduation through culturally-focused convocations. These smaller, more intimate events are cultural celebrations that affirm our students and reach out to families and friends in a meaningful way.
Convocations are FREE and open to all Maricopa Community Colleges graduates, their friends and families, and all employees are invited to attend any and all of the convocation ceremonies.
Note: Graduates need to register and denote the number of guests (family, friends, etc. that will be in attendance). Graduates are asked to be at the venue no later than 5:30pm.
Parking: Please park at MCC PAC lot and extended spaces near entrance; handicap spaces available.
5:15-5:30pm Graduates to arrive at MCC PAC to sign-in, and line-up for the processional
6:00pm Convocation program begins
7:00pm Reception located outside of MCC PAC
Family and Friend Attendance: Open seating; please arrive early to find your seats!
Graduate Attire: Arrive wearing your commencement robe and dress in business casual attire.
Note to Graduates: Please have small children sit with family members; only graduates will be allowed backstage.
Attendee Note: The reception is located outdoors so please plan to dress accordingly.
