In our life we all need to maintain physical health. We need to build healthy relationships. We need to achieve personal satisfaction and inner happiness. We need to realize the deep sense of meaning of our life. What is essential for all the above
things is a healthy mind. Meditation is a systematic method to develop a healthy mind.

Achieving a healthy mind is not only about eradicating viruses that make the mind sick but also about developing positive qualities of the mind.

This course on Introduction to Meditation, rooted in Vipassana (insight) meditation tradition, is designed for beginners as a gradual training program. It has 6 sessions and each session lasts for 1 and ½ hours. It covers how to find your seat, ways to maintain awareness with body movements, techniques for breath meditation and ways to face common challenges in meditation such as physical pains, drowsiness and distracting thoughts.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to be familiar with basic meditation techniques to gradually calm our mind and to develop a sense of equanimity and loving kindness.

Sliding Scale (pay at your income level) $140-100 for the entire course. $20 drop ins.
