5pm for a 5:30pm start

Have you ever stayed at an Airbnb and had death-stares from the neighbours? Or been told by the host to tell anyone who asks that you’re “friends with John and visiting for the weekend”? Or perhaps you’ve been on the other end of the Airbnb experience, fighting for space amongst the suitcases in your own apartment lift, forking out
money to fix damage to the shared facilities, and waking up at 1am to the sounds of revellers doing obscene things to the foyer artwork.

Meyer Vandenberg, together with the Planning Institute of Australia and Capital Crown Leasing, invite you to a special event focussed on all things Airbnb. We will discuss whether Airbnb is legal in Canberra, how it fits into the ACT planning and leasehold framework, and what, if anything, should be done about changing our regulations to adapt to the share-economy.

Don’t miss out on participating in this first of a kind think tank event to identify existing problems and brainstorm possible solutions. It will be an open discussion, with plenty of opportunities to ask the speakers questions. There will be an opportunity for networking, and canapes and drinks will be provided.
