Out of necessity, teens use keyboards more than pens to record information and communicate. Handwritten correspondence is almost extinct. April is National Letter Writing Month, so throughout the month of April, teens are invited to come into the Library to write hand-written letters to 5 different people. Letter Challenge Cards are in the Teen Zone. Turn in completed cards at the front desk for a letter-themed prize! Snacks will be provided.
Adults can also join in! When is the last time you received a handwritten letter in the mail? When is the last time you actually wrote one? It is truly a special feeling to take the mail from the box and find a brightly-colored treasure among the corporate white bills and solicitations.
Teens are awarded a prize if they complete the minimum of five, but we invite anyone to join in for person fulfillment. Or challenge your younger children to do it with you!
