MentorLife® means to always invest in someone, and always have someone investing in you.The theme of our Rising STARS Gala | Celebrating 25 Years of MentorLife® is geared to support our STARS peer-mentoring program. While we've worked in youth development for 25 years, in the last 10 years, STARS has become our premiere youth-serving effort. We now serve teens in 10 states, partnering with more than 40 organizations across the country. This is all done in an effort to support our vision to empower ALL teens with mentors who lead them to successful futures, and ultimately, reduce the national mentoring gap.

FRIENDS FIRST was founded in 1993 by Dr. Lisa Rue. In 1996 we developed our STARS peer mentoring program (Students Teaching About Relationships and Success). The program provides adult mentoring to high school students, who in turn mentor younger teens.

Today FRIENDS FIRST impacts around 5,000 students and adults every year through STARS, positive youth development classroom curriculum, school assemblies, community-based training, and youth leadership conferences. FRIENDS FIRST uses innovative programs, incorporates research-based best practices, partners with parents and schools, leverages community partnerships and employs an experienced, professional, and caring staff to support, encourage, educate and mentor teens. Through a positive youth development approach FRIENDS FIRST seeks to increase school engagement, graduation rates, positive relationships, leadership skills and opportunities for teens to be successful now and in the future.

HELP US RAISE $75,000!
In order to further accomplish our goal of reducing the national mentoring gap, development efforts will drive our mission into more communities with more programs, connecting more teens with mentors.

We hope you will join us on Nov. 3!
