Have you ever wondered what are health benefits of eating local food from the local farms? If yes, come to the Miller Crossing Farmers Market and enjoy several presentation and activities about health benefits of eating local food.
Miller Crossing Farmers Market is hosting several educational sessions/ workshops on Sunday, March 18th 2018 from 11 am to 3pm. Join us to learn about health benefits of fermented food and watch food demonstration on how to make fermented vegetables, milk kefir and water kefir.
Fermented Food and Health (Part II) will be presented by Janja Komlenovic, B.Sc., ADDEH, Food Safety Specialist.
Demonstrators: Eda from Dargatz Family Farm will demonstrate and share with you her fantastic skill in making fermented vegetables.
Camille Kamphuis will be presenting Splash Juicery, the local company located in St Albert which specializes in making organic cold-pressed juices. They also produce organic smoothies, healthy snacks, salad, soups and raw paleo desserts. http://splashjuicery.ca/
Camille will teach you how to make fermented water kefir.
Our meat/eggs vendors John and Becky Doherty from Stonpost Farms located in Wildwood AB will share with you their farming practices and demonstrate how they produce healthy food at their farms.
Britany Watts owner of Harvest Microgreens is very knowledgeable in healthy eating and healing by food. She will be enthusiastically demonstrating how to use microgreens to maintain health and great body shape.
