Some Treasures of Speyside

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

Fochabers is a little gem of a town with hidden depths. It is associated with some of the greatest in the land and has touching stories of some of the humblest. We’ll take an opportunity to explore some hidden treasures in the nooks and crannies of the town and its surroundings before using a mix paths and tracks which will lead us gently up through woodland paths and tracks to the magnificent views up the Spey valley at the curious ever-changing geological curiosity of the earth pillars.

From there we’ll go deeper into the wood of Ordiequish to record our visit to Jean Carr’s stone. A site forseeing the idea of geocaching. The route will then take us on a descent through Slorach’s wood with extensive views over the Moray Firth and north.

There will be a chance to see a few more sites you might care to stay to explore a little further when we return to the town or enjoy an award-winning ice cream or some home baking.

This is a circular route of about 8 1/2 miles
