With interesting advice and inspiration for getting out in the hills, Heather will offer loads of great tips for beginners and more experienced hillwalkers alike, highlighting skills that help you get the best out of your hill days – such as planning, navigation, kit, route choice and what to do in the event of an emergency.
But above all, she’ll inspire you with her love of Scotland’s hills and mountains and send you home determined to get out there and get up those hills.
With a lifetime’s experience in the mountains, Heather works full-time for Mountaineering Scotland as the Mountain Safety Advisor and is based at Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms. Heather holds her Mountain Instructor Certificate and has taught for many years in the mountains of Britain as well as being a member of Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team for 16 years. In her spare time, she is an active mountaineer, climber, sea kayaker and mountain biker. Well known on the outdoor talk circuit, her events are extremely popular and often sold out.
