Stress and anxiety often make parents feel powerless, stuck and discouraged. The interesting thing about stress is it's most often based on our perceptions of life’s circumstances. If you can find ways to change your perceptions, you're likely to feel more powerful as a parent and decrease your level of stress. This introductory learning workshop provides an overview of these principles and will help parents:

- Celebrate your areas of personal strength as a parent and discover how to fully embrace yourself
- Identify your protective factors that can help insulate you from perceived stress and develop a plan to enhance your support system
- Learn how to become a powerful parent by developing practical plans to address specific areas of stress
- Explore how to create realistic expectations for yourself and other people in your life
- Identify areas where you're hard on yourself – learn how to stop trying to be perfect and cultivate the grace to accept mistakes

Open to all in Sturgeon School Division and communities. Childcare is provided.
