Living in the south of jhb is something special, we are nestled, and a bit separated from the rest of Johannesburg and for the most part us Southies like that. But it does have its drawbacks, like so many events that happen are far from home. One of our visions at Movement Crew has been to uplift our communities and give back to the south. Being a part of an amazing school Hoërskool Marais Viljoen High, helps our cause.
Our latest project, Run and Yoga is something we tested last year and are super excited to announce that will be making a monthly staple for the Crew. So many different people joined in on our test event last year from all different walks of life that we couldn’t not push to have it up and running again. We believe that bringing our community together through something as simple as movement is a real way to start changing our humanity for the better.
Test yourself on a 5km loop, the run starts at the same time 07:00, with athletes taking off from the Movement Crew conditioning center and doing a beautiful scenic route through Alberante estate.
As our Sunrise Yoga starts at 08:00, some runners will have the option to run and enjoy a recovery Yoga session as well. Make no mistake a recovery Yoga session will be challenging on many levels as poses’ will need to be held for long durations pushing your body and mind to the limit.
This event is designed for noobs all the way to elite athletes, so if you looking to start something new, dust off those takkies and get involved.
