April 18-21, 2018 MSс in Technology Management will host a new course - Financial Decision Making in English.

The course is taught by Yuri Zayarny, currently Chief Financial Officer (CFO), at Bel Shostka Ukraine, part of a global French business, Fromageries Bel. Yuri has extensive experience as a finance manager in large multi-national companies, including Procter & Gamble and TUI Travel. Yuri has been conducting corporate and on-the-job trainings for many years, focusing on “Finance for non-Finance Managers” and specializes in developing tailor-made finance trainings for different functions, i.e. sales, marketing, HR, etc.

Course description/overview
The course discusses concepts and decisions in financial management and decision-making. The course will introduce:
· basic understanding of financial statements and different business models
· foundations of financial analysis and overview of key financial measures
· basics of budgeting and rolling forecasting
· investment analysis and value creation based on DCF techniques (discounted cash flows, time value of money, etc.)
Participants will work on the final case study that has all the components of decision making covered during the previous sessions and will make their group presentation of the final day.

The course will be taught in 10 working sessions, over a 4-day period in April 18-21, 2018

Learning objectives
After participating in this course, participants will gain understanding of what financial management is and how finance-based decisions are made in the modern world. They will learn key components of financial statements, understand key financial measures and will learn techniques for analyzing performance and valuation of specific projects and businesses overall. The course is designed to stimulate financial thinking, understand key drivers and sensitivities of business and help in longer-term financial planning.
Learnings from the course will also help participants prepare financial parts of their final master’s projects.
