A shuriken is a traditional Japanese concealed weapon that was generally used for throwing, and sometimes stabbing or slashing. This type of martial art is commonly called Shuriken Jutsu.

Shuriken jutsu is a martial art discipline and doesn't need an extraordinary physical condition and/or previous martial arts experience, everybody will practice it under an non-competitive atmosphere.

The Meifu Shinkage-ryū (明府真影流) is a modern school of Shuriken Jutsu. It was founded by Chikatoshi Someya (染谷親俊 Someya Chikatoshi) in the 1970s and currently have several branches around the world.

Meifu Shinkage-ryû (MSR) teaches skills using throwing spikes called Bo-Shuriken (棒手裏剣), Fundo Kusari (分銅鎖) and concealed weapons called Shoken (分銅鎖) that are part of a specialized category of hidden weapons, known as kakushi-buki (隠し武器).
