Our trail run course takes the runner through and around the property of Mt. Hope Bible Camp.
The race starts at the Beery Activity Center. As the race begins, runners and walkers are immediately faced with a steep drop in elevation as they head toward our soccer field (elevation: 933 ft) before being greeted with a steep incline that leads to the edge of our property and the location of our Pioneer Point (elevation: 1,072 ft). Once there, participants will take a right onto the Brushcreek State Forest Bridle Trail that will later lead them to an outlet on Crabtree Cemetery Road. Turning left, the participant will continue on Crabtree Cemetery Road for a brief jog before heading up the access road to Fire Tower (elevation: 1,340 ft.).
Before returning down the back side of the loop, the scenery, from what is considered to be the highest peak in Scioto County, is something to be admired. From there, the trail continues for about 1.2 miles looping back to Pioneer Point and our soccer field before participants head up and around our farthest boys’ cabin, Caleb’s Mountain (elevation: 1,005 ft) and finish by running up yet another steep incline back to the Beery Activity Center.
