After over 18" of fresh snow on killer base with more tonight and all the folks calling and wanting to ski this weekend, we are going to host a weekend-long open house fun friendraiser and crucial fundraiser gathering at Mount Mancelona! The 3rd oldest t-bar in the world will be running (max 8 people at a time) and bring backcountry skins for the back forty tree glades that are awesome. Help us map out the Mountain for Skiing, Mountain Biking, Disc Golf and Trail Running!
• Friday night we will have a kick-off party 6PM-12AM+ in the Lodge with our chef Dave Jessop and Sam cooking huge Vegan and Meat paellas on the open fire. We have plenty of craft beer and all are welcome to bring a dish to pass or bottle for the historic bar. Take a nighttime snowshoe (We have 12 pair thanks to Summit Sports!) with Sam to learn about the vision for the Mountian Of Dreams, pick out your future tree house or yurt favorite spot for future membership models coming and we will call in some Eastern Screech Owls. Bands or DJs are welcome to play on our Live From The Lodge new stage and maybe we will break out the Silent Disco on the Mountain Deck or fire up the wood-fired hot tub!
• Saturday we will ski, snowboard, sled, and enjoy what might be the last good snow of the season. Times are 10AM-6PM then we will have an open potluck feastival party and BBQ will be fired so bring anything for the grilles. Bands and others welcome to jam open mic style. We will again host snowshoe hikes and possible Silent Disco and Wood Fired Hot Tub.
• Sunday is a family day (all ages all weekend though) focus with skiing and snowboarding from 10AM-5PM and a hot dog bbq grille will be set up at the bottom of the Mountain so bring anything to grille!

PLEASE RSVP as we will have limited parking so carpool and drive safe!

All have to sign a waiver and we appreciate donations and any interested investors and crowdfunding folks especially at a time we need to save the mountain of dreams.

Check out our new AirBnB listing and we have rooms available this weekend but call us quick for details if interested as we are not renting out the lodge! 231499.4968. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/21321068

It is so important to come see the vision and visit the lodge even if you don't ski, bike, disc golf, hunt, farm, snowmobile, love music, love arts, love family events, be jazzed on adult only summer camp or top touring concert events, want a tree house or Walden cabin or tiny house with solar, wind and solution systems to teach and educate all that play on the grounds, want to see jobs and fun good jobs explode, want to see boomerang homegrown brilliant young people come home, and see nonrpofit and good work flourish.... This will work and works well if a diverse community leads!
Why are we doing this? Well, this project is an effort to save this historic ski resort and support what we know will be a hub for the 131 Corridor and a cultural and economic revival for the Mancelona community and region. We have spent the past year sharing and building community, hundreds of amazing "Worker Bees" (get stoked for May the month-long Worker Bee Camp and Build Jobs Event) and incredible new friends while also gaining the support from the regional leaders, Township, City and key Statewide relations to make this a successful lifetime commitment as much as incredibly fun. Now, is the time to come see our vision based on mountains of work and the dreams for Mount Mancelona to be a unique future Festival and Event Outdoor Recreation Venue for intimate weekend retreats to concerts and festivals that could host with camping over 25,000 capacity. There is a deep purpose in this design to support local nonprofits, launch new business creating hundreds of annual jobs, focus with our nonprofit on youth, veterans and mothering intelligence for the land, the design, the diverse community values and the patience it will take to build this good work collective!
As many know and all are welcome to learn about this grassroots effort, we have a current bridge loan for $365k but have 33% paid down on property that is worth much more. We had to pull the loan to close and save the 75-acre historic ski resort from being privatized as the community needs this mountain to come back. We are constantly extending the loan out of foreclosure with the last two extensions of $10k each with the help of amazing local individuals making it possible. Incredible. With the Michigan statutory right of redemption law, we have 6 months after foreclosure to buy back only our debt so we know we will find the right capital, local investment and partners to make this happen. We want to be transparent and share how we are willing to take the risk and additional costs to execute the plan if need be. It is a challenging stance as we are so pumped to execute our plan but with patience. 2019 will be the year to rock with strong sustaining revenues and big events but we have cash flow and events on deck starting in July we are excited to announce focused on the Bike Community and Mountain Design July 5-9 and local veterans Forgotten Eagles Chapter for a poker run and micro rock festival July 13-15. We are patient as we have a key program and goal that needs time to build our incentive, value, & equity crowdfunding opportunities through Michigan programs that allow non-accredited investors so all and YOU can own the Mountain.
