Meditation is the art of looking inside and discovering one’s own inner being.Meditation is an exercise for the mind. Like the body, the mind takes “shape” based on the exercises of choice. By meditating we show the mind concentration, focus, equanimity and tranquility.
Meditation leads us not only to totally new inner experiences, but helps us also to transform our day-to-day life into a better, more meaningful and more fulfilling existence. Gradually, through practice, one learns to creatively respond to oneself and the world as opposed to habitually reacting to it.Qualities we then embody in our every day moments.
This a meditation workshop for beginners in which you will learn the basics from why we would want to meditate to how to do it. How do we set up our meditation space? How long do we meditate? What do we focus on? What are some techniques to help us overcome distractions? The workshop will include some guided meditations and provide plenty of time for questions.
