Join us for a screening of "The Turkish Way" on the opening night of the the Boston Turkish Festival's Documentary & Short Film Competition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston!
Introductory remarks will be made by acclaimed chef Ana Sortun of Oleana & Sarma Restaurants, Sofra Bakery & Café. The screening will be followed by a rare live performance by internationally acclaimed Antioch Civilizations Choir and a reception.
In "The Turkish Way," director Luis Gonzalez teams up with the Roca Brothers—Joan, Josep, and Jordi, owners of Catalonia’s Celler de Can Roca, current holder of Restaurant Magazine’s “Best Restaurant in the World” award—to take a five-week tour across Turkey, diving into the rich, diverse culinary cultures of one of the world’s major crossroads. The three brothers cross the nation on a mission to honor Turkish cuisine by developing a new menu using locally produced ingredients—and to invigorate Celler de Can Roca’s own menu with new energies.
The Boston Turkish Festival’s Documentary and Short Film Competition is presented by MFA Film and the Turkish American Cultural Society of New England. More than 40 films will be screened at the MFA (November 2-4, 8, and 11), offering film enthusiasts in Boston an opportunity to explore the works of young filmmakers firsthand: bit.ly/2yHZXBp
