The Music Conservatory of Westchester, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts, is launching the "Colors of Music - Student Mural Contest" for local students in grades 7-12! Contestants will create an original mural design to display their unique, artistic interpretation of what Multi-Cultural Music means to them. Go to www.musicconservatory.org/colorsofmusiccontest for more info and to download Submission Form.

Who can enter: Open to all eligible residents of Westchester County. Also open to non-Westchester residents who are current Conservatory students. All entrants MUST currently be in grades 7-12.

Deadlines: Contest entries must be submitted between Tuesday, March 20 and Friday, May 11, 2018.

Guidelines:
- Show your artistic interpretation of “Multi-Cultural Music”. May include musicians, musical notation, etc. No celebrities or copyrighted content. Limit artwork to images of family friendly subject matter only.
- Medium and Materials: Use a variety of mixed media of your choice.
- Work must be submitted via email, along with completed Submission Form including a description of the artwork.

The winning student and runners up will collaborate on the final mural design with acclaimed artist, Jonathan Villoch, whose work has been exhibited at the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, Frederico Seve Gallery, and Allegra LaViola Gallery in New York City, for The Bakehouse in Miami, and at Aisle One Gallery in St. Louis. The mural will be displayed on a large-scale canvas – an exterior wall of the Conservatory building on Central Avenue in White Plains!
