Amateur Astronomy Club is back with Overnight Stargazing on 21st April 2018 at the hilltop of Naneghat. We will get a view of the Lyrid meteor shower, the dusty trail of a comet with a centuries-long orbit around the sun. The Lyrid meteors streak across the sky between April 16 and April 25, so we have a chance to see them as the best night to see Lyrid meteors will be extremely early in the morning on Sunday, April 22. Also we will enjoy mesmerising view of our Milky Way galaxy.

Event Highlights:
1. Explore Naneghat caves, know the historic importance of the place
2. Watch & click the Sunset & other landscapes
3. Stargazing under crystal clear skies without light or air pollution at the altitude of 2500 feet
4. Watch deep sky objects like Nebulae, Star Clusters, Galaxie, etc.
5. Watch Moon & planets like Jupiter, Mars & Saturn through telescope
6. Homemade Tasty Food

Following is the tentative itinerary of event:
1. You are requested to come at 8 AM sharp at Teen Hath Naka, Thane. Bus will depart at 8:30 AM sharp
2. Pick up points: Kalyan- Khadakpada Circle (9:30 AM), Shahad Station (10:00 AM), Murbad (11:30 AM).
(Also in case any requested stop on Eastern Express Highway between Thane & Kalyan)
3. Lunch (Veg) will be at Naneghat at around 2 PM
4. Post lunch rest time will be given till 5:30 PM so that everyone would stay awake throughout the night to gaze the Cosmos
5. Evening Tea will be served.
6. Watching Sunset & other site-seeings till 6 PM
7. At around 6:45 PM, we shall begin with our very first session by Introduction to Astronomy, Telescopes & Night Sky
8. Dinner break at around 9 PM
9. Second session continues from 10:30 PM by exploring Constellations, naked eye as well as deep sky objects viewing through the Telescopes
10. Mid-night Tea break at around 1 AM
11. Exploring newly risen Constellations & objects till dawn
12. Wake up call at 6:30 AM along with breakfast
13. Leaving site by 7 AM & reaching back to Thane by 12 noon

Following are the instructions as well as things to carry while you join us:
1. Carry warm cloths as well as old new-paper and mattress to lie down to relax. (Since it's going to be quite cold throughout the night)
2. Carry a torch, covered with red gelatin paper
3. Carrying Alcohol & smoking on the field is strictly prohibited
4. Drinking water & decent toilet facilities are available
5. Parking for private vehicles is available
6. Carry your necessary medicines along
7. Basic accomodation is provided for resting/sleeping purpose. Do not expect luxurious facilities as we are going to remote area
