Join us Friday, April 6th from 5:30-7:30 for the Meet the Artist reception: Valdon Ross. Valdon's exhibition "Everyday Mundane: Transforming Space with Trash" is a series about the loss of imagination. It is in an invitation to rediscover wonder and awe through re-imagining the things you have come to ignore or treat as unwanted.

By using materials liberated from dumpsters or discarded along roadways and creek sides to transform the appearance and ambience of a location, Valdon extends this metaphor beyond the literal use of trash objects to include your relationships to daily life, physical and emotional spaces, and even parts of yourself that are viewed as rubbish and therefore abandoned.

At 6:30 p.m. Valdon will begin StoryTelling. StoryTelling is a social and cultural activity of sharing stories, sometimes with improvisation, theatrics, or embellishment. Every culture has its own stories or narratives, which are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation or instilling moral values.
