A 40-hour course of instruction utilizing a combination of classroom based instruction and hands-on practical exercises for the purposes of documenting and reconstructing shooting scenes. This course is taught by NFA Instructors Jim Molinaro and Howie Ryan. Participants will learn:

-Terminology for shooting reconstruction
-Internal, external and terminal ballistics
-Range of fire determination and gunshot residue
-Behavior of projectiles on varying target surfaces and recording/documentation of bullet marks
-Humans as a target surface
-Motor vehicles as a target surface
-Flight path reconstruction, description and documentation
-Proper report writing for shooting incidents
-Identifying, detecting, measuring and describing bullet marks
-Courtroom testimony - explain/describe analysis and reconstruction
