Young visitors will enjoy participating in our family discovery activities, which will include make and take crafts and the opportunity to contribute to our aeroplane sculpture. Details of events and dates below:
Tuesday 3 - Friday 6 April
Young visitors can learn more about the history of flight, and join in the fun themselves by making their very own straw gliders.
Saturday 7 - Monday 9 April
Splatter planes, made with marbling ink, will inform our young visitors about aircraft camouflage.
Tuesday 10 - Thursday 12 April
How does the weather impact on flight? Join our team in making weather dials and air dry clay hangers to find out!
Friday 13 - Sunday 15 April
Our final family activity is full of facts celebrating the RAF. Young visitors can also have their picture taken in cockpit frame and wearing an RAF hat while using their handmade moustache prop on a stick.
Cardboard Aeroplane Project
Tuesday 3 - Sunday 15 April
Alongside these crafts, we will be running a separate building project – a 10-12ft cardboard aeroplane. Throughout the holiday we will be encouraging young visitors to take part and contribute to different aircraft parts, and by the end of the Easter Holidays we hope to have a communal sculpture that celebrates RAF 100 and the exhibition surrounding it, Tribute 100.
