Broaden your understanding of yoga from Core Yoga's sophisticated knowledge of the moving body and discover a fresh, informed approach to your practice.
This comprehensive workshop, spread across morning and afternoon sessions, is a deep investigation into the nine major Bandhas within the body. We will explore the importance that the Bandhas play within the physical practice of yoga in relation to stability and correct effort.
Students will learn to move with support, using the limbs as anchors in their foundation. We will establish the anatomy of the major joints in the upper limb and lower limb in meaningful terms, anatomically and with descriptive language to help embody the experience.
We will develop an understanding of the Bandhas’ ability to affect the movement of fluids and energy within the body. Students will explore the concept of Tejas or inner radiance. Core principles of compression and expansiveness will be explored in regards to heating and cooling; and purposefully directing the flow of Prana through the muscular support of the body
Throughout the day, we will explore the Bandhas using a dynamic yoga sequence suitable for both beginners and experienced students.
We will learn that creativity in our practice doesn’t necessarily come from new postures. But that re-envisioning our inner experience of our Asana can foster a deeper level of inner-connection and purpose for our practice.
