In this educational session, cancer patients will learn how to decrease their risk of lymphedema, become aware of signs and symptoms of diagnosis and understand treatment options available if lymphedema is diagnosed.

Lymphedema is an abnormal accumulation of fluid that most often affects an arm or leg causing swelling. It may occur as a result of lymph nodes being removed during a surgical procedure such as a mastectomy or due to lymphatic vessels being injured while undergoing radiation therapy.
