Dear Parent(s), FFA members, Alumni members and supporters:
The New Hampton FFA is excited to announce our 87th Annual FFA Banquet to be held Saturday, April 14th , in
the New Hampton High School Gymnasium. We have an evening full of awards and surprises for the members,
parents and guests. We will recognize four Iowa Degree Candidates and hand out Leadership and Agricultural
Skills CDE (Career Development Event) awards. The Honorary Chapter Degree will be bestowed on an
individual(s) or group(s), plus the New Hampton FFA Star Greenhand, as well as Star Chapter Degree Recipients
will be named.
Our very own, 2017-18 Northeast District Secretary, Hannah Heit, and 2017-18 Northeast District Reporter,
Rachel Grober bringing remarks. We will also have Ryan Pickar presenting The FFA Creed.
The FFA members are making items once again that will be offered at the live auction. This is a chance for the
members to showcase their abilities and talents with projects that range from woodworking, baked goods, labor, to
summer produce. The Alumni uses the funds from the auction to help support the FFA members and the chapter
with their new and ongoing projects, as well as participation at district, state, and national events. This year we
have a special item. We will be raffling off an FFA quilt made and donated by Patrice Schilling, Jordan
Holthaus’s mother. To view this lovely quilt, stop by Addicted to Stitchin’ on Main Street in New Hampton to get
a preview of our raffle item! We will be selling cards for this raffle, $10 for one card or three cards for $20.
The afternoons schedule will be as follows:
5:00 -- Doors open
6:00 -- Meal
6:30 -- Program Starts (Live auction for Alumni throughout)
If this is your first banquet we believe that you will be pleasantly surprised with the organization and pride the
members take in planning the banquet. If your child has an FFA jacket, we ask that he/she wear it with official
dress if possible. If your son/daughter doesn’t have a jacket, it might be possible to borrow one from the chapter,
or wear nice jeans/khakis and a nice shirt/polo. Either way, we look forward to seeing you there!
Finally, a tradition that has started at the New Hampton FFA Banquet is the Wall of Jackets. We invite you to
bring in your FFA jacket, a family member’s FFA jacket and/or a friend's FFA jacket to add to our display. The
Wall of Jackets is something people look forward to every year and we would love to have you take part in it!
We look forward to sharing the evening with you. To RSVP for this award filled evening, would you please
email Mr. Russ at email@example.com or call 641-394-2144 extension 2101 by April 5 th to let us know
how many will be attending. Help us make this another successful event. We hope to see you on the 14 th of April!
New Hampton FFA Officers, Mr. Russ, and Ms. Mattke
