Come along to our second New Zealand Pacific Studio Open Day of 2018!
Along with our House Manager and writer in residence Sian Ni Mhuiri (Ire), you can visit the studio of visual artist Rebecca Holden (NZ), our ANZAC Fellow for 2018. Rebecca was awarded the ANZAC Fellowship to support her project 'A Home Away From Home’, which explores the story of the Aotea Convalescent home for New Zealand soldiers in Heliopolis, Egypt during WW1. The home was staffed by nurses from Wairarapa, Wellington and Whanganui.
Also at NZPS for our open day are Emma Palmer and Emma Garschagen - visual artists, environmental scientists and collaborators from the US. Emma Palmer has recently completed a residency upon a sailboat, which travelled between Auckland and Christchurch, and will be reflecting on her maritime experience in her artwork.
Drop in from 2pm-5pm for refreshments, lovely home baking, and an afternoon full of creativity.
