Most biblical scholars agree that the Gospel of Mark originally ended with verse eight and that the further verses were a later addition. While everyone loves a happy ending, if we conclude the story at the eighth verse, we find the women fleeing the tomb in fear and awe. Perhaps this was the author’s intent, to invite us into the story, to pick up where these women left off and go and tell that Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified, has been raised, and is going ahead to meet us just as he promised. Join us Sunday, April 1 at 11:00 a.m. for our Easter Worship Celebration when we will consider our response to Jesus’ Resurrection in our message, "Terror & Amazement" (Mark 16:1-8).
