When Jesus appeared to his disciples following his resurrection, he didn’t launch into a lengthy explanation about what had just transpired or provide an itinerary of his whereabouts since Friday evening. Instead, Jesus taught and commissioned: his whole life, death, and rising were about what God is doing in the world—reconciling the world to God’s self. Our message for the Third Sunday of Easter will be "Flesh & Bone" based on Luke 24:36-48.
We will also be receiving the Native American Ministries Sunday offering. Native American Ministries Sunday is one of Six Special Sundays designated by The United Methodist Church. The funds received will allow The United Methodist Church to partner with existing native ministries and create programs on behalf of Native Americans as well as support scholarships for United Methodist Native Americans. Fifty percent of this offering will remain in the Virginia Conference to develop and strengthen local Native American ministries. Offering envelopes will be available for your convenience.
