Lucas Foglia is an internationally award-winning photographer based in San Francisco. His works are held in the permanent collections of many prestigious museums on two continents. He holds a Bachelors in Art Semiotics from Brown University, an MFA from Yale University in Photography, and was an instructor at the San Francisco Art Institute. He is the author of three books, and his photography and story have been in numerous publications including National Geographic, New York Times, Wired, Mother Jones, The Guardian, Vogue Italia, Outside, The New Yorker, and Harpers.
FRONTCOUNTRY, his current exhibition at The NIC, is the result of six years photographing communities throughout the rural American West, exploring how people use the land and with a focus on the interaction between ranching and mining industries in Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Wyoming.
