We are excited to welcome back to The Nimbin Bush Theatre the amazing Magnificence. This band know how to have fun! Enjoy the show on our outdoor stage under the stars as you try our totally yummy inhouse Gumbo, (veg and non veg available), and let a little bit of New Orleans enter your life. These events are great family nights, with folk of all ages grooving to the music and children happily enjoying the gardens lit by fairy lights and candles.
Trumpet player and singer Cam Smith is the band leader of this troupe of enthusiastic fun loving jazz musicians who make up The Magnificence. Playing almost-traditional jazz and New Orleans inspired music for over a decade means these cats create music that is played with so much raw passion and commitment that audiences cannot help but feel uplifted and happy! New Orleans Jazz is informal street jazz, played by the people as a defiant response to the hardships of the world and in the process of creating a response transforming the world into a better place! In the late 19th century, while the rest of America were stomping along to military marches, New Orleans was dancing to Voodoo rhythms. Musicians took the sounds they heard in church and created a new fun and rebellious form of jazz. Gumbo, red beans and rice will be on the menu for this special evening celebration of all thing N’awlins. Don’t miss this magical night of Jazz under the Stars and let yourself shine!
