Chuck Lichtenberger began playing piano at the age of 5, and started writing music at 11. He studied classical music at UNC Asheville and began a serious study of jazz upon graduation. His teaching career began at the Asheville Music School in 1996, and he opened his own studio in 2002. Chuck’s extensive performance and touring experience includes stints with Stephaniesid and The Goodies. He’s hosted the jazz jam at Barley’s for the last five years and at Tressa’s for the decade before that.
Chuck’s current project is The Chuck Lichtenberger Collective, which features a rotating lineup of the areas’ finest musicians. The CLC performs original arrangements of pop songs ranging from Michael Jackson to Nirvana, along with jazz standards, folk songs, and Chuck’s original tunes. Most shows include a mixture of vocal and instrumental selections.
He also performs solo.
