It’s often a challenge to offer safe and grounded practices to students with mobility or balance challenges. In a traditional yoga class, our typical starting point is standing, kneeling, or lying on a mat on the floor. Chair Yoga utilizes the same mind-body principles as mat practice but from the safety of a chair. Join Carey Sims for a workshop exploring the benefits of Chair Yoga. Learn how to offer your students grounding, spinal awareness, strength building, stretching, and ease in the body and breath through Chair Yoga practice.
Carey is an ERYT and has studied Adaptive Yoga with Matthew Sanford at MindBody Solutions in Minnetonka, MN. Carey teaches Chair Yoga at various senior living centers in Charlotte and offers a “Gentle Yoga for Back Care” class at Noda Yoga on Saturday mornings.
