Noisy Beehive is proud to present - Springtime Jazz Festival 2018!

Day 1 is at Huset-KBH in collaboration with Noisy Beehive

SJF is bringing 3 days of music from Italy and Denmark to Copenhagen.

3 acts: you’re going to get blasted from every side, we’ll take care of overwhelming your senses with noise coming to your eyes, ears and bodies.
From the small to the big explosions, everything we’ll be scented with our typical italian avant-garde melodicity.

Opening with a solo act, we’ll continue with an interdisciplinary performance and finish with a larger music ensemble.

➥ 21:00 Pasquale Caló SOLO + surprise guest
Pasquale Caló is a seminal figure in the development of improvised and contemporary jazz aesthetics and networks in Italy. A wholehearted original voice on tenor saxophone, a southern point of view on life that you’ll feel immediately in his sound, phrasing and vision.
Pasquale is making the italian music scene explode since 10 years (at least) and now is bringing something for you to Copenhagen.

➥ 22:00 Federico Corsini Body-Sound Waves
Copenhagen-based doublebass player and performer from Corte Franca, Federico Corsini is active since some years on the interdisciplinary field, promting performances and collaborations between musicians and dancers.
As honest as you’ll ever get it, his sound and intentions range from feather-light whispers of ancestral melodies to a total commitment almost to the point of human sacrifice (his own, don’t worry). A trasversal player, shaman, he’ll create “the zone” to summon unexpected, concrete happenings.

Federico Corsini – doublebass, performance
Gianluca Elia – audiovisuals
Dancers and musicians TBA

We’ll finish it off with an impro set featuring the most interesting voices from the CPH scene, meeting with some of our guests from Italy in a sonic hug which we can’t foresee, but it will kind of be related to noise and post-rock.

Storm D’Angelo (US), Jedrzej Lagodzinski (PL), Pasquale Caló (IT): tenor saxophone
Gianluca Elia (IT): no-input mixer
Jonatan Uranes (NO): electric bass
Soren Hoj (DK): drums

➥ The visual art for the Noisy Beehive events is made by our parner Hilal Can Illustration. Hilal Can is an Istanbul based artist who lights the magic behind mundane & everyday life moments.

Do not hesitate to see her thrilling work!

➥ Springtime Jazz Festival, created by the artistic production platform Mediterraneo Radicale, is a roaming contemporary jazz festival happening during the spring in many Italian and European cities.
Active across generational and geographical borders, SJF promotes new creative artistic productions and makes connections between musicians of different aesthetics, ages and nationalities.

The 2018 edition is happening in Torino, Milano, Bari, Lecce, Taranto, Urbino, Viterbo, Napoli (IT), Bruxelles, Amsterdam, and for the first time in Copenhagen.

SJF2018 is coming to Copenhagen bringing three days of music, presenting projects from Italy and collaboration with the international impro scene which is so special about the danish capital.
During the same period, a large improvisers ensemble will be formed, to record a collaborative composition that will be released on the internet as documentation under creative commons license by Mediterranean Creative Records.
