5 Week On-Camera Workshop - April, 2018
Actors need a space (a lab, if you will) to get to know the medium they are performing in before they go to set. They need have a strong awareness of themselves in the frame, as well as understand what directors and editors appreciate from them in the cutting room, and beyond. That includes understanding continuity, vocal levels, tension, performance energy, camera setups, and how to develop a strategy for giving your best performance when everything seems topsy-turvy, out of order, and distractions abound. In the past I didn't allow cameras in our classroom, but after being in film school for three years, I've changed my mind, completely! I do believe that actors should learn the basics of acting technique before they worry too much about a camera, so we'll always talk about the ABC's of acting.
Limited to 10 participants. Open to all levels, but a brief phone interview will be required for beginners prior to admission. Save 15% if you purchase online before March 25, using the code 'EARLY" at checkout.
