All Norpoint Training Center courses require that the student be at least eighteen (18) years of age, have a clean criminal history and not otherwise be prohibited from the possession of firearms.
Students should be healthy enough to stand in a shooting range for approximately 2-3 hours, and have sufficient hand strength to operate a handgun for that period of time.
Being a responsible gun owner starts here.
This class is designed for people who are new to shooting or are intimidated by shooting or handling firearms.
The student will learn the fundamentals of marksmanship, the safe administrative handling of their firearm, and basic firearms safety. Students do not need to own a firearm to attend this class.
Students who do not own a firearm will be provided with a .22lr handgun and ammunition to complete the class.
This is also a good starting point for those who are nervous or intimidated about handling firearms.
This class is also appropriate for experienced gun handlers who have never had formal education in safety.
The truth is that most people do not intentionally act in an unsafe manner with firearms, but our natural body mechanics often cause, otherwise well intentioned, people to do incredibly unsafe things with firearms.
This class will fix those bad habits. In addition, you will learn the proper way to shoot accurately. We believe that we can take any person, regardless of their experience level and make them safe shooters. This class will teach you to be a safe and responsible firearms owner
There will be no formal lunch break in this class. There will be an opportunity to eat and drink during the portions of the class where videos are being played.
There are no formal equipment requirements for this class.
Students are encouraged to bring the following:
• Hearing protection (ear plugs, or ear muffs). Can be purchased or rented from Norpoint.
